Making Condition Assessment Actually Work
This hands-on session runs the full Condition Assessment (CA) workflow — from field collection through the capital planning and budgeting that turns condition data into action — focused on the real setup, configuration, and mechanics rather than theory.
Asset-intensive organizations rely on Condition Assessment for unbiased, standardized, and actionable insight into the capital needs of their buildings, equipment, and assets over time. IoT and AI are beginning to disrupt the traditional “boots on the ground” approach, but the value of an assessment is rarely disputed. The hard part isn’t agreeing that CA matters — it’s implementing it well.
Because CA is costly, time-consuming, and resource-intensive, misapplying it creates cascading problems — including the loss of funding for future assessments. The key is treating CA as a journey, not a destination: think holistically and long-term, and build a strategy that answers the “then what” question — how the data will be maintained, refreshed, stored, accessed, and used to inform leadership as asset condition continually changes — and, critically, what technology will hold it all together so the organization stays focused on where it’s actually trying to go.
